How to face trials as a Christian

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance." -James 1:2-3

I have been pondering on this verse.  How can you think about such words in the midst of troubles??  FAITH, PERSEVERANCE and JOY.  For a Christian, ALL adversity is for spiritual development. Adversity prepares you for the next step in your life.  Adversity makes you stronger against the attacks of the Devil.  If you become bitter as a result of adversity you will go in circles. If you seek God's purpose for your adversity you will be amazed at the outcome. As you pursue your goals you face adversity, yet it is ALL worthwhile when you accomplish your goal.  And it is worthwhile when your trials have stretched your faith to the point where you depend on God more and more, each time!!

Psalm 57:6

"They spread a net for my feet - I was bowed down in distress. They dug a pit in my path - but they have fallen into it themselves."- Psalm 57:6


When confronted with verbal attacks, the best defense is simply to be quiet and praise God, realizing that our confidence is in His love and faithfulness. In times of great suffering, don't turn inward to self-pity or outward to revenge, but upward to God. (author unknown)

Been thinking about.....

I have been pondering on the idea of having some sort of area, on my new blog, for jotting down things that have been on my mind.....spiritual things that I've been thinking about....things I have learnt from the day's blog....things I want to study or research more.....and perhaps questions you might be able to help me with.  It wasn't until I opened up "RBC Ministries" that I found the perfect name for my blog....."been thinking about"!!  So here we go!!
